Photocopiers
A self-service photocopier is available for patron use in the Reading Room.  All materials must be reviewed by library staff before they may be photocopied.  Please review the Library Policies page of the website for rules regarding photocopying of the collections.

Photocopies cost $.50 per page using cash or copy cards. The photocopier accepts nickels, dimes, quarters and one and five dollar bills. 

Materials photocopied by staff members for patrons visiting the library cost $.50 per page plus Rhode Island state tax. 

Patrons are responsible for observing all copyright laws.

Microfilm & Microfiche Readers
The library has a total of six microfilm reader stations (electronic and manual) and one microfiche reader. Printing is available at two of the microfilm stations. The microfiche reader does not print. Copies from the microfilm cost $.75 per page.

Microfilm and microfiche readers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Use is limited to one hour if other patrons are waiting.

PC resources
The library has three computer terminals for patron use.  The first terminal has access to the library's Ancestry database subscription.  Use of that terminal is limited to work on Ancestry or other genealogical web sites only.  The Links section of this website has listings for local and nationwide genealogical websites.

The remaining two stations are dedicated to the Rhode Island Cemetery Database (RICD). (Click here for an online index).  The library is one of only six organizations with a complete version of the database.  There is no Internet access on either of these computers. 

Printing is available from the Ancestry and one of the RICD computers.  Prints cost $.25 per page. Computer stations are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are limited to one hour segments if other patrons are waiting.

Change
There are no change machines in the library. The library staff is often able to make change for use in our photocopier, however there will be times when change is unavailable.  Patrons should come with an ample supply of change and dollar bills.

Copy Cards
A machine that dispenses and recharges copy cards is located in the Reading Room next to the photocopier. Purchase of the initial copy card must be made with a single dollar bill, the value of which is then added to the card. Money may be added to the copy cards indefinitely in increments of $1.00, $5.00, $10.00 or $20.00.
