"Prepared to do my whole duty": Elisha Hunt Rhodes in War & Peace

Sunday, April 18, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The Civil War letters and diary of Pawtuxet native Elisha Hunt Rhodes were made nationally famous by Ken Burns' acclaimed PBS documentary The Civil War. This exhibit, to be displayed at the MOWC through August 22, showcases materials received by the RIHS two years ago as part of a very significant gift from a Rhodes descendant. The opening reception for RIHS members and special guests will feature performances from the Providence Brigade Band and light refreshment. The exhibit will open to the general public the following day. Please RSVP by calling 401.769.9675 or by emailing aconway@rihs.org.

This exhibit is made possible through a generous grant from the John H. Chafee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor Commissioners.
