Notes:   John Hadwen operated from a number of locations in Newport:
In the 1760s and 1770s he advertised locations at Long Wharf and Thames Street. In an advertisement from 1785 (21 May and other dates), he is mentioned at an address of 273 Thames Street (roughtly near 440 Thames now). In 29 October 1770 he announced a return to a location "opposite Philip Wanton's" on Thames Street, and in 1798 he was at the former home of Governor Wanton on Thames Street.
