Historical note:


            Of the Putnam Light & Power Company we know only that it was a public service utility company serving the villages of Putnam, Pomfret, Woodstock, Thompson, Grosvernordale and Abington. Office and salesroom were in the Union Block of Putnam. The company was owned by Sayles Finishing Plants.
