Historical note:


            The town of Richmond is located in Washington County in southwestern RI and was incorporated in 1747. It was originally part of Charlestown.

Scope and content:


            The collection includes birth and death certificates for the people of Richmond and the surrounding villages, voting lists, justice of the peace records, and school district records.

Provenance:


            The provenance for the voting lists, birth/death certificates and tax valuation records is not known. The materials were brought together as one collection in the 1980s.
