Scope and content:


            This collection consists of two large volumes. The first is the daily cash journal from 1790-1792 of a general store in Westerly, Rhode Island owned by Rowse Babcock Sr. (1745-1801).

            The second is a weaving ledger from his son Rowse Babcock Jr. (1773-1841) of Westerly. This ledger, apparently kept on his behalf by his clerk, Horatio N. Campbell, records yarn charged to weavers and goods returned from 1835 to 1840.
