            Henry Sarle was a meat and produce dealer in Providence, Rhode Island, active in the early part of the nineteenth century. His wife was Amy Sarle. No other personal information could be gleaned.

            The provenance of the seven account books and the deed is unknown. They appear to have been first cataloged in the mid-1970s. The carriage certificate was donated in 1999 by Helen-Marie Street.
