Alarming Intelligence: A Living History Event about Rhode Island’s Reactions to Lexington & Concord

April 19, 1775 marked the start of the American Revolution. When news of the “shot heard ’round the world” made its way from Lexington and Concord to Providence, Rhode Island, how did locals react to this “alarming intelligence”? Visit the John Brown House Museum on Saturday, May 3, from 10 am – 4 pm, as living historians bring this conflict from 250 years ago to light.

Join the conversation during the General Assembly’s meeting as they decide what actions to take. Hear from local women, loyalists, and Daughters of Liberty alike, as they consider how their lives will be impacted. See how militia members consider how far their actions must go.

Programming will take place both indoors and on the Great Lawn. Hands-on opportunities will be available for history enthusiasts of all ages.

Those interested can purchase tickets HERE.

The John Brown House Museum is located 52 Power Street, Providence, RI. General admission costs $15 for General Admission, $10 for members, $6 for children ages 10-17; admission is free for children under age 10. Visitors can also purchase a tricorn hat for $15.
