An Artist Amongst the Mills at the Museum of Work and Culture

The Museum of Work & Culture, a museum of the Rhode Island Historical Society, will present “An Artist Amongst The Mills,” a discussion of Woonsocket artist Bernard Fontaine’s life on Saturday, October 25, the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth.

The presentation offers an extensive overview of the life of Bernard Fontaine, a lifelong Woonsocket resident who was also a multi-faceted artist. The discussion will be presented by Fontaine’s two sons, Andre and Pierre Fontaine.

The event will include a guided tour of the Museum of Work and Culture, with special focus on the Triple-Decker House exhibit, designed by Fontaine, and featuring family photographs and mementos.

The event will begin at 1:00 pm, with the talk starting at 1:30 pm. Refreshments will be available. For those unable to attend in person, a Zoom registration option is available.

This is a free event, but advanced registration is required for both in-person and Zoom attendance at rihs.simpletix.com. Guests can register now here
