Hands-On History: Interactions with the Colonial Period for Kids

On Saturday, February 22 the Rhode Island Historical Society will present Hands-On History: Interactions with the Colonial Period for Kids. Offered at 11am and 2pm at the John Brown House Museum, step back to the colonial period and learn about life in 18th century Providence. RIHS staff members will lead conversations and guide families through this federal-era mansion. Interactive stations and sensory objects offer the opportunity for hands-on learning to help engage kids as they discover what life was like in the colonial era. 

This 50-minute tour, geared towards children ages 8-12, is included with an admission ticket. General admission to the John Brown House Museum costs $10 per person, $6 for children ages 10-17, and is free for those 9 and younger; other admission discounts are available. Space is limited to 20 people per tour, advance tickets are recommended.  Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Guests can register here
