The Rhode Island Historical Society will conclude its free Inside the Archives series on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 5:30 p.m., with a program providing guests with the opportunity to get a first hand look at a newly acquired, major collection.
As a holiday surprise, guests are invited to the Aldrich House to see items from its most recent acquisition. The collection itself is a surprise, but visitors are promised a fascinating, hands-on experience with an important slice of Rhode Island’s past. Richard Ring, Deputy Executive Director for Collections and Interpretation, will discuss the significance of the new acquisition, while the collections staff will guide participants in the proper handling of historical records.
Registration is extremely limited and is required. Guests may secure their free ticket by visiting rihs.org.
Inside the Archives is part of the Rhode Island Historical Society’s Bicentennial Celebrations, sponsored by Amica Insurance.
