LEGO Workshop with Andy Grover

Join the Museum of Work & Culture on Saturday, December 6th at 12pm for a special LEGO workshop led by RI-based LEGO artist Andy Grover. In this two-hour program, Grover will guide participants as they construct their very own mini version of a triple-decker, the classic, three-story houses that dot industrial cities and towns across New England. The program is designed for adults and children accompanied and assisted by an adult. Tickets are limited.

This program accompanies the Andy Grover LEGO exhibit on display in the museum’s Landmark Medical Center gallery from December 5th through January 3rd.  For the exhibit, Grover has constructed a LEGO version of a turn-of-the-century Woonsocket street scene, depicting what the city would have looked like during the holiday season a century ago.  Other models of classic Rhode Island buildings will also be on display.

Tickets are $40 per LEGO kit and are limited. Registration is required. Guests can purchase tickets here

Triple-decker kits, along with other Grover-designed kits, will also be available for purchase at the museum store during the exhibit’s installation, which will be on display through January 3, 2026.

Grover, who lives in Providence, uses LEGO bricks to depict Rhode Island themes and landmarks. His work focuses on ‘working class’ structures like triple-deckers, factories, and old public school buildings. These places are often lovely and culturally significant, but are frequently neglected and overlooked. His work seeks to celebrate the rich history and culture of Rhode Island that is found in our most ‘ordinary’ buildings.
