Join the Rhode Island Historical Society on Wednesday, June 3rd, at 10am for a member-exclusive tour of the Nathanael Green Homestead.
Guests will explore historic 1770 Spell Hall, the home of Major-General Nathanael Greene, Second-in-Command to General George Washington in the War for Independence. Spell Hall was Greene’s Home from 1770-1781, and is often credited as being the place where he learned what it took to be the great military figure he became through the running of his large iron foundry on the property. The Homestead sits on 50 acres of land in the historic village of Anthony, Coventry, Rhode Island.
It is also home to an extensive 3.5-mile hiking trail, as well as the family burial ground of his brother Jacob and his descendants.
