During the inventory, accessioning, and cataloging processes objects/items need to be labeled with their unique identifying accession number and/or call number. Rhode Island Historical Society’s Registrar, Dana Signe K. Munroe, will present methods for labeling three dimensional objects and paper based objects. We will discuss: what part of the object to label; which labeling materials to use for specific object materials; and techniques for labeling. We will also discuss supplies, suppliers, and how to assemble a labeling kit for easy labeling in storage rooms.
Dana has been with the RIHS since 2001. She has served as the Technical Services Assistant, Graphics Curator, Assistant Museum Curator, and Registrar during that time.
