The Museum of Work & Culture is excited to announce Salute to Summer a reimagining of their previously scheduled Salute to Spring/Bonjour Printemps event, featuring the eagerly anticipated 4th Annual Poutine Indulgence & Competition.
Between Wednesday, June 17th, and Tuesday, June 23rd, event ticket holders will be able to sample poutine (a traditional Québecois dish of French fries smothered in gravy and cheese curds) from four participating restaurants via curbside pickup and vote online for their favorite. Restaurants include: Adelines: A Speakeasy Kitchen Bar in Cumberland, Friskie Fries in Johnston, Ciro’s Tavern in Woonsocket, and Bywater in Warren. In addition, ticket holders will also be able to pick up a special sweet treat made by Wright’s Dairy Farm and Bakery in North Smithfield at the Museum of Work & Culture on Wednesday, June 24.
The Poutine Indulgence will culminate on Wednesday, June 24 at 5pm with Salute to Summer/La Fete de la St-Jean. The event will be live streamed on Facebook and will feature the announcement of the winning restaurant, as well as a live drawing of the Museum’s annual raffle, featuring a grand prize of a trip for two to Québec City.
Additional entertainment for ticket holders will include a performance by four piece Franco-American band Fleur de Lis, featuring historical insights on French Canadian musical traditions.
Tickets remain for Salute to Summer: Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at ShopMoWC.com.
