Join the Rhode Island Historical Society and the Community College of Rhode Island on Thursday, March 9 at 6pm for a screening of the Smithsonian Channel’s documentary Warrior Women with Lupita Nyong’o, in honor of Women’s History Month.
In the film, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o travels to West Africa to learn about the female warriors known as the Agoji, whose rich culture and complex history is often misunderstood by outsiders.
Admittance is free.
