The Museum of Work & Culture, a Rhode Island Historical Society museum, will host the world premiere of A Slater’s Tale, a site-specific theater piece inspired by the acclaimed docuseries Slatersville by filmmaker Christian de Rezendes.
Written by screenwriter Guy Beniot, A Slater’s Tale uses local historical figures and icons to examine what happens when a wealthy family finally runs out of money, exploring the effects of wealth on those who have it, those who want it, those who don’t have it and don’t want it – and their friends. This dark comic work of historical fiction features colorful, detailed characters and traditional New England folk music.
Showtimes are on November 7th & 8th at 7:30 pm, and on November 9th at 2 pm. Tickets are $30 for General Admission and $25 for students, seniors, and military. Tickets can be purchased at www.ristage.org.
