Help for Genealogists!

Starting tomorrow, Saturday, September 8, members of the Rhode Island Genealogical Society will be available at RIHS Library to assist patrons working on family history. Whether you’re a beginner or have just hit a brick wall, these seasoned genealogists from RIGS can show you the tricks of the trade and help you navigate the multitude of RIHS resources, from vital records and city directories to family papers, newspapers, business and military records and everything in between.
As always, Library staff is here to introduce you to the mysteries of the card catalog and other finding aids and get you started on your quest. We thank the volunteers from RIGS for offering their services to those who need more in depth assistance than we are able to provide on busy Saturdays.
