A high school diploma or GED is the minimum educational requirement for the facilities
assistant;
Basic oral and written communication skills; ability to follow oral and written
instructions;
Ability to operate janitorial and lawn care equipment used in daily work;
Some work experience as a handyperson or in a skilled trade, such as painting,
landscaping or plumbing is highly desired;
The physical strength and stamina to perform the above duties and to lift 50 pounds.
The RIHS has three Providence locations, so reliable transportation is required. A
background check is required for all employees of the RIHS.
Salary & Benefits: $18/hour, 37.5 hours per week. Health insurance is an option the first day of
the month after hire; employee is vested in RIHS pension plan after 24 months. Paid holidays,
paid vacation time and sick leave.
