The collection includes atlases, nautical charts, plat maps, fire insurance maps, road maps, train maps, and more.

For more reading about our map collection and early Rhode Island maps, read Howard Chapin’s Check List of Rhode Island Maps, 1918. This masterwork is a detailed list of maps of Rhode Island arranged chronologically from the early 17th Century through 1918. This book is available in our Reading Room and online through Google Books.
