Historical note:

The L. A. Lockwood Company manufactured cotton goods and was an outlet for remnants and overages. A sales office was located in Boston; the mill appears to have been at the Crefeld Mills in Westerly, Rhode Island and later at Phillipsdale. Frank A. Sayles owned the largest block of shares. The rest were issued in the names of Crefeld Waste & Batting Company, Benjamin Fessenden, Charles Otis Read, and C. A. Dexter.
