Historical note:

The Rumford Textile Company was a converter of cotton goods and remnants. Between c.1917-1934 it was located at Bourne and Noyes Avenues in the Rumford section of Phillipsdale, in what is now East Providence. One source refers to this company as having been "formerly the L.A. Lockwood Company." Because this material came with the Sayles records a connection is presumed.
