Historical note:
These records do not reveal the precise location or the history of the Butterfly Farm. The name and general location suggest some connection with the famous Butterfly Mill, located on the Moshassuck River in Lincoln. Although the farm produced and sold all of the predictable products of agriculture, their principle product seems to have been their registered dairy herd. At some point in the existence of the farm it came under the ownership or control of Sayles Finishing Plants or of Frank A. Sayles. After the sale of the dairy herd, which signaled the demise of the farm as it had been constituted, its remaining assets were turned over to the TARSCO Corporation.
Scope and content:
This collection consists of farm operation, production and employment records, sales of ice, hay, brick, stone, puppies, poultry, eggs and ensilage.

This collection was a gift from the Sayles Finishing Plants on 25 December 1971.
