We are pleased to welcome you to the Robinson Research Center! Many of the materials in our collections are fragile or unique, and so we ask that patrons respect our “house rules,” which align with national standards for special collections libraries.

House Rules

Visitors must sign in and sign out at the visitor’s log next to the front desk. Folders, etc. brought into the reading room will be inspected before departure.

Bags, coats, and anything else which is not essential to research should be placed in secure lockers available in the lobby.

Please use pencils only in the Reading room—no pens or anything else which makes indelible marks. Because of the irreplaceable nature of many of our materials, we ask that patrons using the collections do so with the utmost care. RRC staff will monitor the use of all materials in the Reading Room and will assist visitors in using the collections as necessary.

Researchers may take photographs of collection materials for personal use only. To request reproductions for publications, see our Rights & Reproductions page. Patrons are responsible for observing all copyright laws.

Please contact the Reference staff for more information.
