Description
Sleeved, singled-breasted waistcoat of unlined striped blue linen has self-faced fronts and sleeve openings, small hem. Front closes with nine self-fabric buttons on wooden or bone button moulds. Sleeves have self-faced four inch slit at wrist and close with brass button two inches from sleeve hem. Two hip-height pockets with self-fabric bags have flaps cut on the cross grain with slightly convex hem edge. Said to have been worn by Colonel Joseph Noyes at the Battle of Rhode Island.
