Each day we work at the museum, we get a little closer to finishing the exhibit installation. The cases in the first floor gallery have been emptied and re-installed with Civil War objects. Mounts are being recovered, and labels written, so even though the objects are placed and the panels hung, we’re not done yet!
Work continues upstairs as well, and when we’re not in a gallery, we’re writing labels, preparing lettering, and waiting for the lab to call with news of finished prints.
Rhode Island at War opens next Thursday, June 28, at 5:00 PM at the John Brown House Museum. We are expecting members of the 2nd Rhode Island Regiment, who will be on hand to talk with visitors about Rhode Island’s part in the Revolutionary War.
