During the three years that the organization was active, there were over 1,500 members from all over the state that participated in campaigns to guarantee employment to poor Rhode Island residents, ensure that utilities were not shut off due to lack of payment and clothe and feed poor children.
These posters are examples from the Mark Toney Papers of the causes that WAGE fought for in order to bring an end to homelessness, poverty and high unemployment of Rhode Island’s poor citizens.
