The Johnston Historical Society was formed by a group of residents in the 1970s. In the early 1980s the group met in what is now called the Elijah Angell House. Around 2000 we opened our museum barn. The barn was subsequently expanded to include a larger meeting space. The first floor of the house is maintained as a museum. Meetings are (usually) held on the last Wednesday of the month. Visitors are invited on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Thursdays 9am to noon, or by appointment.
